Full Description
Mountain Guides Italy is specialised in organising custom made ice climbing guided trips for 1 to 2 people. We do not have pre-set dates for our trips because we work around the needs and technical level of our clients.
Multi-pitch is the essence of ice climbing. The day starts with an approach hike to the start of the route, and when we begin to climb, following the logic of the itinerary. Multi-pitch ice climbing can mean anything from easy 2/4 pitch routes to challenging 6/10 pitch routes.
The area where we are based is a magic place to ice climb with over 50 ice falls. We will carefully choose the perfect location according to the ice conditions, the weather forecast and your level. We also guide all over the Italian Alps.
Example Itinerary
It is for you and your guide to decide the exact makeup of your booking however, these itinerary days shown below are an example of how a booking for this activity could be structured.
Day 1 : Getting to know you |
What ever your level, before we start climbing multi-pitch, we need to go though a series of routine exercises like belaying and abseiling, protection placing and removal, communication. We will then start with an easy multi-pitch route so we can find a good rhythm. |
Day 2 : Multi-pitch ice climbing |
Depending on our progress on day one, we will choose and the most adapt multi-pitch route depending if you would also like to lead or not. |
Day 3 : Multi-pitch ice climbing |
Depending on your motivation and your ability, we will select a route that is ideal for your level. |
