Full Description
Mountain Guides Italy is specialised in organising custom made rock climbing courses and guided trips for individuals or small groups. The best learning situation is on a one to one basis, or one to two. We do not have pre-set dates for our courses or trips because we work around the needs and technical level of our clients.
Multi-pitch is the essence of rock climbing. The day starts with an approach hike to the start of the route, and when we begin to climb, following the logic of the itinerary, we slowly become part of the natural environment. Multi-pitch climbing can mean anything from easy 4/5 pitch routes to challenging 10/20 pitch routes.
We guide all over the Dolomites: Tre Cime di Lavaredo, Tofane, Cinque Torri, Lagazuoi, Torri del Sella, Marmolada, Civetta, Pale di San Martino, Sassolungo, Catinaccio and Brenta Dolomites. We advise to book at least 3 days so that you can enjoy the area that we will choose to climb. If you just book a day trip, that will be at Corna Rossa in the Brenta Dolomites which is easily accessible with the gondola from Passo Campo Carlo Magno (Madonna di Campiglio). For multiday bookings, the ideal is to spend a few nights in the mountains in a "Rifugio". When the weather is not suitable for climbing in the mountains, we go to Arco di Trento in the Sarca Valley where it is possible to climb all year round.
Example Itinerary
It is for you and your guide to decide the exact makeup of your booking however, these itinerary days shown below are an example of how a booking for this activity could be structured.
Day 1 : Getting to know you |
What ever your level, before we start climbing multi-pitch, we need to go though a series of routine exercises. According to your experience, this could take from a few hours to a couple of days. These are the topics: basic climbing technique, rope work, knots, rock climbing equipment, belaying and abseiling, rock climbing technique, placing and removing gear. |
Day 2 : Multi-pitch rock climbing |
Depending on what was covered on day one, we will continue the basic training today, and choose an easy multi-pitch route. |
Day 3 : Multi-pitch rock climbing |
We live day by day, so each day we will select a route that is ideal for your level. |
