MOUNTAINEERING IN ITALY
There’s something unforgettable about mountaineering in Italy—the mix of wild alpine terrain, rich history and breathtaking scenery makes it one of the most rewarding places to explore and challenge yourself in the high mountains.
In summer, we’re based in Ponte di Legno—a prime location in the Italian Alps with access to three stunning mountain ranges, each offering a unique experience.
The Adamello-Presanella range features the largest glacier in the Italian Alps and a network of scenic, hut-to-hut glacier traverses. The nearby Ortles-Cevedale range, reached via the Gavia Pass, is home to quiet, dramatic peaks rising up to 3,900 metres. Just across the valley, the Brenta Dolomites offer a rare opportunity to combine glacier travel with classic Dolomites mountaineering on high-quality alpine rock.
This area is ideal for first-time mountaineers, with accessible routes and impressive scenery. It’s a great place to develop your skills, learn to use mountaineering equipment and build confidence on snow, ice and rock. For more experienced alpinists, there are plenty of challenging lines to explore too.
