Single-pitch Rock Climbing in the Dolomites

    Full Description

Single-pitch climbing is the perfect situation to learn the basics or improve your rock climbing skills. The areas where we work have dozens of climbing crags with thousands of fantastic bolted routes. For every season and type of weather we will find the perfect location, also according to how many people are in the group. Kids and friends that don't climb, but would like to join you, are more than welcome.

Mountain Guides Italy is specialised in organising custom made rock climbing courses and guided trips for individuals or small groups. In single-pitch climbing we can work with groups from one to five people per Guide. We do not have pre-set dates for our courses or trips because we work around the needs and technical level of our clients.

In the Summer we are based in Ponte di Legno, a lovely mountain village in the Italian Alps and a perfect location for climbing in the Brenta Dolomites. We can stay in the village and do day trips, or spend a few days in the mountains in a "Rifugio". The rest of the year we are in Finale Ligure on the Italian Riviera, well known for being one of the Outdoor Capitals of the World.

    Example Itinerary

It is for you and your guide to decide the exact makeup of your booking however, these itinerary days shown below are an example of how a booking for this activity could be structured.

Day 1 : Getting to know you

What ever your level, before we start climbing, we need to go though a series of routine exercises. According to your experience, this could take from a few hours to a couple of days. These are the topics: basic climbing technique, rope work, knots, rock climbing equipment, belaying and abseiling, rock climbing technique, placing and removing gear.

    Day 2 : Single-pitch rock climbing

Depending on what was covered on day one, we will continue the basic training today, and choose the best crag according to your level and the weather conditions.

    Day 3 : Single-pitch rock climbing

We live day by day, so each day we will select a location that is ideal for your level and needs.
